ANIMADRID Archive — International Animated Image Festival
For eleven editions between 2000 and 2010, ANIMADRID brought the best of international animated shorts, features and series to Pozuelo de Alarcón, in the Community of Madrid. This archive preserves its programme, its juries and its awards.
The festival is no longer held and its original website is gone. This is an independent archive of what was published: 866 preserved addresses, eleven editions and the official section's full awards list. It is not the festival's official site and has no connection to Pozuelo de Alarcón town council or the Community of Madrid.
The eleven editions
What ANIMADRID was
Run by Pozuelo de Alarcón town council with the support of the Community of Madrid, the festival ran a competitive official section — shorts, features, television series and station idents — alongside retrospectives, tributes, exhibitions and children's workshops. Its venues were the MIRA Teatro, Pozuelo's Casa de Cultura and the Kinépolis cinemas.
It paid tribute to Cruz Delgado, the most prolific Spanish animator of his generation, to Will Vinton, and to the centenary of Tex Avery; guests included John R. Dilworth, and dedicated strands covered Garri Bardin, the Cartoon d'Or and animation school work.
